Last week before heading into rehearsals for their next show ‘Brigid and Cú: The League of Legends’, Chalk on the Wall Productions were deep in the mists of devising a new piece of work that will come to An Táin Arts Centre in the Autumn, complete with new member Yasmin Hanratty.

On the 8th and 9th of June Chalk on the Wall Productions had two workshops based around the topic of devising lead by Anna Simpson, Artistic Director of Quintessence Theatre Company our Former Theatre Company in Residence. From one generation of An Táin Arts Centre’s Company in Residence to the next.

These workshops where held in preparation for the company’s upcoming devised piece titled Impact that aims to explore the pressing challenges faced by Irish road users today revealing the human cost, behind the stark statistics.

The workshops consisted of warm-ups of both the body and the mind, ensemble building  games along with various devising techniques and a few tips on how to devise an original show. All members of Chalk on the Wall had a great two days working with Anna  and after these two productive workshops the company left full of ideas for how to tackle there next show.

Keep an eye out for Chalk on the Wall’s next show Impact coming to An Táin Arts Centre later this year in November.
